EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES
Ty’r Morwydd is an environmental study centre which offers fieldwork linked to the curriculum for students of Geography, Biology and Environmental Science at AS/A2 level and GCSE to Key Stage 3 and Primary. We offer fully flexible programmes with every course tailored to the individual requirements of the school/college.
In addition to our tutored courses the centre is an ideal base for University fieldtrips and for special interest groups.
WHY CHOOSE TY'R MORWYDD FOR YOUR FIELD TRIP?
- Easy Access to outstanding fieldwork locations
We are within easy reach of a number of outstanding fieldwork locations including the Brecon Beacons National Park, South Wales Coalfield (including Blaenavon World Heritage Site) and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. It is an area of great geographical and ecological diversity, offering outstanding potential for a wide range of educational and recreational activities. Wild, unspoilt moorlands and wooded valleys with clean streams, contrast sharply with industrial pollution, dereliction and regeneration.
- Courses tailored to meet individual syllabus requirements
Our field exercises are designed and resourced with close reference to syllabus requirements. At A2, AS and GCSE levels there are excellent opportunities to tackle coursework items for assessment.
- Flexible programmes
Our flexible policy offers you a wide range of choices, from day to residential courses, with full tuition or simply the provision of facilities and advice for self-taught programmes. Our tutors will help to develop a programme to suit your requirements and will provide resources and worksheets for your study.
- Excellent Health and Safety Record
In the field you can be assured that all teaching staff are first aid qualified. Thorough risk assessments can be provided for all fieldwork sites. The Centre is a secure premise and there is a duty member of staff on-site at all times.
